FAQ

The short answer is any child under 4 years old, unless night training is involved in which case I will guide parents to get their older children out of nighttime pull-ups and wake up dry.
The longer answer is, if your child is at least 4 and resisting daytime potty training, message me first, and I’ll let you know whether we will be a good fit.
-
It’s certainly helpful but not a pre-requisite. I empathize with how busy you are as a parent amongst your other responsibliities, so more homework is the last thing you need. I do recommend keeping it on hand, however no pressure.
-
If this will be our first time meeting, a 60-minute consultation is required.
If your child is exhibiting symptoms of poop or pee withholding or another complex issue, I recommend a 60 minute session.
If we have already met at least once and you simply need quick answers or reassurance around a niche topic such as night training, I recommend a 30 minute session.
-
Once you book a session, I will email you a brief contract and TOS (Terms of Services) agreement for you to sign. These must be signed prior to our meeting.
Upon booking, you will answer a handful of pre-requisite questions which will help me maximize our time during our 1:1.
You will automatically receive a calendar invitation which includes a link for our video call for you to click at the time of our consultation. If for some reason you do not see the invitation in your inbox, please check spam/promotions or message me.
-
Regardless of the duration of our consultation, we will meet over Google Meet, Zoom, or Facetime (whichever you prefer), and I will get to the root of the challenges you are experiencing while providing a clear plan and path forward.
I also include up to two email follow-ups, so you are welcome to reach out with any additional troubleshooting assistance twice as new questions or concerns may arise. I include a comprehensive recap email within 24 hours of our consult as well, so do not worry about trying to memorize everything and take notes during our calls, unless of course it makes you feel more comfortable.

If your child is between 20-30 months, odds are they are already ready. It’s also totally possible that they are ready if they are younger than 20 months; it just typically takes a little longer. I recommend reframing the question to whether your child is capable, and if your child is of toddler age, then I can promise you they are in fact capable!
-
In short, no. While this service is in high-demand typically as a result of busy schedules, potty training is a process that ultimately works best when you, the parent, manage the process. Think of me as your personal guide, virtually holding your hand and giving you the tools, custom-tailored strategies, and encouragement to see this to fruition, however it is not in anyone’s best interest for me to potty train your child on your behalf. Like giving birth, it’s one of those things that only you can do, and the only way out is through. That said, I am passionate about empowering parents both logistically and energetically to get their children out of diapers with dignity.

Yes! I am based in Fort Myers, Florida, so if you live within Lee, Charlotte, or Collier counties, I can drive to you. Send me a message, so we can discuss specifics such as your goals and my in-person rate based on your location and my time commitment.

Think of this in terms of a process rather than a method. Typically parents who ask this have “tried” potty training at least once before, and more often than not they used another program which fell short. I get it— you are feeling jaded and skeptical. While I cannot guarantee any result, what I can tell you is that when you follow the Blocks in order and troubleshoot as needed (that’s what I’m here for!), the end result is a confident, capable, potty-trained child. It’s worked for thousands of families when followed.

Since every child is unique, I cannot possibly guarantee it will take the same number of days for every child. What I can tell you is that typically for children under 20 months old, it can realistically take close to one month (likely quicker if you’ve been consistent with elimination communication), and for children who are 20-30 months it can take anywhere from a few days to nearly two weeks. An older child does not necessarily mean a faster or easier to potty train child! This is a common misconception. I would seriously question any program that is guaranteeing your child will be fully potty trained in 3 days. This is a momentous milestone and a process. It might take 3 days! But it also might take 10. Or 7. It likely won’t take “just the weekend” (though it’s possible, just unusual), and we won’t let this drag on for weeks on end.

Formally, I am Oh Crap! Potty Training certified a.k.a. Jamie Glowacki’s program. Jamie is the O.G. potty training expert who has helped half-a-million families successfully get their children out of diapers over the past 25 years. Informally, I have a boy and girl of my own with whom I’ve walked this path along with clients whom I’ve supported through some of the most challenging roadblocks. I partake in monthly, recurrent live meetings led by Jamie and other OCPT consultants to stay up to date on the latest potty training dilemmas and their respective solutions.
-
Many. Broadly, I guide parents through standard, straightforward toddler potty training in addition to parents of younger toddlers who need support with wrapping up EC and transitioning to being fully potty trained.
Other examples of dilemmas for which I provide support:
poop withholding
pee withholding
night training
any type of regression i.e. having accidents well after potty training has been successfully established
unexplained poop or pee accidents
troubleshooting of any kind
transitioning to school potty trained
These are just some of the more common examples. If you have any questions about whether we are a good fit, please send me a message!

I always recommend reading Jamie’s best-selling book! However, the reality is, if you have made it this far, then odds are you do not have the time or mental bandwidth to read a book and then calmly tackle potty training.
That’s where I come in! You shouldn’t have to white-knuckle through potty training drama while underresourced, frazzled, and on your last nerve.
Additionally, the book can only cover so much ground. There are serious, medical issues such as poop withholding, which is defined as pooping anywhere except for the toilet (pooping in pants, requesting a diaper to poop in, pooping on the floor, outside, etc.), and pee withholding which is the deliberate holding in of pee due to fear of the release, which must be addressed through very specific protocols which I have training in.
Some clients have taken Jamie’s poop withholding and pee withholding courses and still prefer to work 1:1 with a certified consultant like me because it helps to have someone to bounce your observations off of in those early days and weeks to ensure your child’s progress is headed in the right direction.
All that is to say, the book includes the tried-and-true potty training process as well as overcoming straightforward challenges both behavioral and environmental. Howeer, the book cannot possibly address the nuances of every individual child since no two children are alike. That’s the major advantage of working together 1:1, live.
Your intuition will nudge you if a 1:1 consultatation makes more sense than just reading the book. If you’ve been trying everything without seeing progress, it’s likely time for us to meet. I look forward to working with you!

Prior to becoming a mom and certified potty training consultant, I refined my deep, activte listening skills during my eight years in the software sales industry. The majority of the time, the surface level symptom is just that. A symptom.
It’s my job during our time together to get to the crux of the problem you’re witnessing, whether that’s random, inexplicable accidents, requesting a diaper to poop in, or refusing to sit on toilet, just to name a few examples.
I take a comprehensive and holisitc overview by zooming out and analyzing the full picture from sleep, diet, and family dynamic to any recent major triggers such as a move, divorce, tragedy, welcoming a new sibling, or beginning school. I factor in your child’s unique, innate temperament, personality, strengths, and any potentially resistant or tricky behavior. What I leave you with is a custom-tailored, stepwise solution with the goal of getting your little one back on track in a timely fashion without disrupting the family dynamic.
-
It depends. This is typically outside of my scope, however if you message me with some more context, I will be happy to refer you to a consultant with expertise in this area if I do not deem this will be an appropriate fit.

No, I see clients anywhere! That is one of the perks of virtual consultations. Believe it or not, potty training challenges are universal unless you were born and raised within a traditional or indigenous culture.
“We started potty training our three-year-old earlier this year, but after dealing with a lot of accidents, we gave in and put her back in pull-ups — which ended up causing a full regression. Feeling totally stuck, we reached out to Kat for a consultation, and we’re so glad we did. She shared so many helpful, practical strategies that we could start using right away. We couldn’t believe how much value we got out of just one hour with her. Kat quickly spotted that we were mostly on the right track but needed a few simple tweaks and those small changes are already making such a big difference. She also gave us the confidence and tools to start night training, which we had been putting off. If you’re struggling with potty training, we can’t recommend Kat enough. Her advice goes way beyond the well-meaning tips you get from friends or family. Every child is different, and Kat really understands how to meet kids (and parents!) where they’re at.”
Kind words
